Research on the Joan Sherman Program for Resilient Children began in 2011.  Through our partnership with the Devereux Center for Resilient Children, we are continuing to analyze implementation data and gather control site data. The information below is our current research data as of December 2016.

Research Report

  • Multi-site program development and evaluation project
  • Both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Over 2,300 families agreed to participate in the project
  • Majority of staff believed program was effective in developing parenting skills
  • Majority of staff reported that the program has made a positive impact on the overall quality and effectiveness of visitation services provided by their agency
